Hurt Pants!

I can't believe I haven't thought to put this on here sooner!!!!  It is a trademark Caleigh phrase!

When I was younger, if I ever got a spanking, my dad and mom called it "red hams".

When Caleigh was much younger but could already make small sentences, she told us one day that she did not want to get "hurt pants."  We understood this to mean a spanking.

To this day, Caleigh still refers to a spanking as "hurt pants" and so do we!

Flipity flips

Flipity flips are known to the rest of the world as frisbees. However, Caleigh's continued love of the character Wubzy from the show Wow Wow Wubzy still provides her with some vocabulary that is authentic to Wuzzleberg!

Idditated

Caleigh shouts out "I'm so idditated!"

I say "You mean irritated?"

She says "No, idditated!"

I ask what that means.

She states, "It's when you are throwing something and your hands get tired!"

Um, ok!

Fencing

Caleigh: "Mom, come in here quick!  Look what's on! Hurry!"

Me: (hurrying to living room) "What is it?"

Caleigh: "It's Olympic Space Hitting!"

Me: (laughing)"That's called fencing, not space hitting!"

Caleigh: " OHHHH!  Well, what is space hitting then?"

Me: "I have no idea!"

"Harbee's"

The other day, Chad, Caleigh and I were out running some errands.  Lunch time came around and we were hungry!  Chad suggested we go to Arby's and grab something to eat.  Caleigh didn't like that idea.  So, we asked her what she wanted.

She looked up and saw a billboard for Hardee's.

She proudly proclaimed she wanted "Harbee's".  Chad and I laughed.  I told her that there was no such place.  There was a Hardee's and and Arby's but not a "Harbee's."

To this she chuckles and says "Oh! Guess you better put that on my Quips!"

LOL!  What have I done to this child?  LOL

Three Bites, You're Out!

This week I had to distinguish umpires from vampires. Apparently, these two things are the same in Caleigh's mind and can be used interchangeably.

We have been watching a lot of Braves baseball together this summer. And now, with the Olympics up and going, umpires are everywhere!

Thank goodness there aren't vampires everywhere! And besides, aren't vampires notoriously night creatures? I doubt they could stand the intense heat and bright sun that Georgia offers its Braves and their fans!

I do have to admit when she called the Braves game umpire a vampire, I did secretly imagine a very pale man behind that mask and I had to laugh!
