According to the dictionary:
impress: verb to affect deeply or strongly in mind or feelings; influence in opinion
I told Caleigh that I was really impressed with the way she played her soccer game. She asked me what impressed meant and without having a dictionary handy I tried to explain the meaning of the word to her.
Later that day, I fixed Caleigh some lunch.
When I handed it to her, she looked at me and said, "Thanks mom, I'm really impressed."
I couldn't help but laugh and she was bewildered as to why I was laughing at her "compliment."
She cracks me up!
